Craft Associations, Guilds & Societies

Members of a variety of Craft Associations, Guilds and Societies will be on hand to o? er advice, inspiration and encouragement. They will also be hosting demonstrations and displaying some of their impressive work.

Away in a Manger

A cow, sheep, donkey and a baby in a manger… If you thought the Scottish School of 3D Decoupages’ four-foot paper robin was ambitious last year, then come and visit their brand new nativity scene, all created by hand from cut and layered paper.

These local ladies, who have recently been decorated with a British Empire medal in the Queen’s 90th Birthday Honours for services to the Arts and Craft and voluntary services in Dunbartonshire, can't wait to tell you how to turn a six-inch greeting card image into a full sized model! Watch this space!

They will also be showing you how to create beautiful toppers and bows to make your Christmas gifts even more special this year.

Deck the Halls

Bring some festive cheer into your home with fabulous floral decorations. Whether you fancy a garland, a table centre or a wreath; you can learn from the experts. The Scottish Association of Flower Arrangement Societies (SAFAS) will be running practical Christmas themed classes throughout the show, tutored by qualified teachers and demonstrators.

The aim of SAFAS, which this year celebrates its Diamond Anniversary is to encourage and support floral art and design from beginners to the highest level. Visit stand B24 to find out more about the Society, or book a place one of their hour-long classes. Classes are for a maximum of 10 people and take place at: 11 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm Thursday to Saturday, and 11pm, and 1pm on Sunday.
